Beyond the Bar

Ever wonder where your chocolate really comes from? We tracked cacao from the farm all the way to the store shelf. Turns out there's a lot happening behind that wrapper, and not all of it is sweet.

Project Overview

Beyond the Bar looks past the chocolate wrapper to investigate the complex supply chain behind it. This student research project developed frameworks for assessing chocolate supply chains, created business planning tools for ethical sourcing, and built technical solutions for tracking products from farm to shelf.

The Dutch-language project reflects European priorities around supply chain transparency and fair trade, providing practical tools for businesses looking to improve their sourcing practices.
